Vui Projects

Vui is a small town located in Keta in the south-eastern corner of the Volta Region of Ghana with a population of less than 10,000. To the people of Vui, the importance of quality education in the 21st Century cannot be overemphasized. They believe access to good education is a far-fetched dream of every child. Vui has only one elementary school (Vui A.M.E. Basic School) with an annual enrolment of 900 students. The lack of decent educational facilities unapologetically handicaps effective teaching and learning. The students attend school in makeshift classrooms made from palm-fronds. After several calls for assistance from the community leaders of the town, The Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) in partnership with the Ewe Association of Georgia Inc., a nonprofit organization stepped in.The goal of this fundraising campaign is to provide a 6-classroom facility for Vui A.M.E Basic School. We are appealing for your financial support toward the Vui Classroom Project; the construction of a 6-classroom facility for the school. We believe that with your help we can invest in the education of these children who are the future leaders of Ghana and their communities. We pledge to keep you informed at each stage of the construction process, so that you may be aware of how your donation is impacting lives in the community. We believe that the students, teachers, parents and the Vui community at-large will be very grateful for your generosity.Thank you!

  • CHICAGO PROJECTS

On the occasion of CEANA’s 20th anniversary, it is necessary to revisit the presentation of its history from a different perspective, the Chicago Perspective! A historical narrative of CEANA has been beautifully written by Mr. Gordon Sabblah and Mr. Cudjoe Dorkeno.
